Graham Booth
Illustrator of the Henry the Explorer series

Graham Booth was born in London, England in 1935. He lived in the English countryside as a boy, and his family emigrated to Canada after the War, on the ocean liner Aquatania.

The scenes in the Henry books draw from his British Columbian childhood. Early on he worked in a plywood mill, then moved from Vancouver to Southern California, with formal art training at UCLA and USC.

He became an educator, professor and Chairman of the Art Department at Fullerton College in California. Booth received his PhD in education from Clarement Graduate School.

He enjoyed teaching children and adults, thrilling them with his sense of humor and improvisational drawings. He retired in 1997 and is survived by four loving children who remain inspired by the legacy of his wonderful illustrations.
