Paul Fenimore Cooper
Author of TAL, His Marvelous Adventures
with Noom-Zor-Noom


Paul Fenimore Cooper, a great-grandson of the novelist James Fenimore Cooper, was born in 1899 and graduated from Yale in 1921. He wrote TAL in 1929 and his other books include Tricks of Women and Other Albanian Tales (1928), a translation of folk tales; Island of the Lost (1961), a non-fiction account of the Arctic expedition of Sir John Franklin; and Dindle (1964), another book for children, about a dwarf who saves a kingdom from a dragon.

He lived in Cooperstown, New York, with his wife Marion Erskine Cooper and their son Paul, Jr., a physicist and Arctic explorer. The author died in 1970.
