Mark Taylor
Author of the Henry the Explorer series
Henry's creator was the talented educator, storyteller, musician and writer, Mark Taylor. He grew up near Ann Arbor, Michigan, where his earliest audience included his three younger borthers who recall their fascination with his storytelling and performances of folk songs with guitar and Irish Harp.
Mark's undergraduate studies were completed at the University of Michigan. His PhD in Instructional Technology was earned at the University of Southern California.
Taylor was widely known and respected for his scholarly contributions and talented storytelling. His gift for relaying old tales in new ways for young audiences spilled over into his original stories of the Henry books and many more.
Mark's brilliant career ended with his death May, 1992 in Montebello, California at the age of 64.
